Goal To introduce students to the fundamentals of copy writing and copy editing with an eye toward print media; to provide basic instruction in formatting, layout, and design techniques; to develop a working familiarity with the principles of interviewing and journalistic research. Content Creation of a copy portfolio, including profiles, features, crime reports, and event coverage; discussion and practice of interview techniques. Taught Alternate years. Credit 3 hours.
