Illnesses common in the adult population are explored, especially as presented in the acute care setting. Emphasis is on identification, treatment, and/or resolution of acute and long term health problems. Health promotion and disease prevention as they apply to specific disease entities are also discussed. The influence of genetics, alternative or cultural health practices, and application of nursing care in the community are reviewed as they relate to specific illnesses as well as collaborative care with other health care professionals. Must be accepted to the Nursing Program. (4-6-6) Corequisites: NURS 3050, NURS 3200, and NURS 3630. Prerequisites: ( NURS 2600 Minimum Grade: C and NURS 2700 Minimum Grade: C and NURS 3005 Minimum Grade: C )
