This course will examine the major events in the history of Eastern Europe. Among the major topics covered will be the Byzantine Empire, the Ottoman Empire, The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Hapsburg Empire, national revivals, the World Wars, Communist domination and the collapse of Communism. The class will examine the political, cultural and economic aspects of these topics. (3-0-3)
