This course has been designed to give advertising art majors the opportunity to explore various types of illustration and several techniques which are applicable in this field. It is also set up to provide students with projects that, when completed, should be of portfolio quality. The course will focus on illustration used for book covers, magazines, short stories, textbooks, and scientific drawings. Techniques used will be pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, scratch board, and various combinations of media, including computer graphics programs.
