This portion covers basic recombinant DNA technology, gene regulation, molecular genetics, transcription, translation, diversity of life, plant and animal form and structure, animal systems and ecology. Prerequisite: BIO 101 or consent of the instructor. Lecture 3 hours; laboratory 2 hours, per week.
