Goal To understand the artistic and journalistic uses of photography, to understand how the camera relates to and differs from the human eye, to learn the basic operations of the camera and enlarger, and to control contrast and composition in a photograph. Content Introduction to black and white silver gelatin photography, paper and film processing, darkroom techniques. Special emphasis on photography as fine art. Taught Fall, Spring. Gen. Ed.
