E.Stroud This year's seminar we will examine changing urban environments, environmental influences on cities, the environmental impact of urban places, and the concerns and influence of urban environmental activists in the United States. We will be questioning the anti-urban bias of much environmental history, and interrogating definitions of "nature" and "culture" that place people and their habitats outside of the "natural" world.
