NA K.Johnson Studies on the structure and function of microtubules and other cytoskeletal components. Techniques employed include the generation of mutants and their characterization by genetic analysis; the manipulation of DNA, RNA and protein, including studies of transformation and expression; and the production of antibodies and their use in immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy. Laboratory work is supplemented by readings from the current literature. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
