This course examines the ways in which the computer in the Jewish school can enhance Jewish learning and Jewish life. The computer is presented as a component of constructive learning to stimulate the autonomy and lifelong intellectual curiosity required in the contemporary postmodern situation. It then proposes concrete applications of computer-mediated Jewish learning to achieve these goals. Among the topics discussed are: communications technology and distance learning in Jewish history, computers and the emergence of postmodern Judaism, appropriate use of technology, instructional design, and using computer technology to create community.
