This course explores the early Rabbinic interpretations of the book of Genesis. Some major issues to be addressed are: the Rabbinic understandings of the creating of the universe; the creating of humanity; the conflict between Cain and Abel; and the lives of the ancient Patriarchs and Matriarchs.
