(6 credit/10 contact hours) Introduces the fundamental concepts and procedures necessary for the safe and efficient use of basic machine tools. Topics include: use of hand and bench tools, use of power tools, analysis of measurements, saw and blade selection, feed and speeds determination, use of coolants, saw and blade maintenance, sawing operations, drilling setup and operation, ISO 9000, Deming's quality theory, quality goals and objectives, and coordinate measurement machines (CMM).
