The second in a two semester sequence which provides a survey of the principles of modern biology including cell structure and function, respiration and photosynthesis, gene structure and function, genetics, evolution, diversity of living things, plant and animal systems, and ecology. The courses satisfy Core Area D non-laboratory science option only, unless taken concurrently with BIOL 1108L, Essentials of Biology Laboratory. Taught Fall Semester and Spring Semester.
