Provides an introduction to networking technologies. Covers a wide range of material about networking, from careers in networking to local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Focuses on operating network management systems and implementing the instal ation of networks. The course reviews cabling, connection schemes, the fundamentals of LAN and Wan technologies, TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting, remote connectivity, and network maintenance and troubleshooting. Topics include: media and topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation, and network support. Hours: Class/Week 3 P.Lab/O.B.I. 3 Credit 4 Prerequisite: ELC 120
