Prerequisites: CSC 245, MAT 225. An introduction to the problem domains of artificial intelligence and to the principles and techniques used to design systems that acquire knowledge and demonstrate intelligent responses. Particular areas studied include deterministic and heuristic search techniques appropriate for large problem spaces, formal methods of knowledge representation and logical reasoning, natural language understanding, and neutral nets.
