Study of the elements of thermodynamics, kinetic theory, and statistical mechanics; the concepts of temperature, entropy, phase transitions, transport phenomena, partition functions, statistical ensembles; the Maxwell-Boltzmann, Fermi-Dirac, and Bose-Einstein distributions; and the equipartition theorem.
