We will read authors such as Cooper, Emerson, Fuller, Thoreau, William Apess, Douglass, Harriet Jacobs, Longfellow, Poe, Hawthorne, Melville, Whitman, and Stowe, and works such as the Cherokee Memorials and the political writings of figures such as Lincoln.
