Fundamental properties of macroscopic biophysical chemical systems are introduced and described in quantitative terms. A core of topics in thermodynamics, molecular motion, kinetics, molecular distributions and statistical thermodynamics is supplemented with topics germane to students taking physical chemistry with biophysical applications.
