Topics include hospital pharmacy organization, work flow and personnel, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, safety techniques, data entry, packaging and labeling operations, extemporaneous compounding, inpatient drug distribution systems, unit dose chart fills, quality assurance, drug storage, inventory control, robotic automation, basics of aseptic compounding techniques (ASHP video training program), safe handling of hazardous Drugs (ASHP video training program), I.V. certification, USP Chapter 797 Standards), hospital committee structure, infection control, horizontal and vertical flow hoods, biological safety cabinets, Center for Disease Control, contamination risk labels , vaccinations, medication administration records, narcotics, floor stock, and intravenous admixture service.
