This is an introduction to the science of pharmacology with emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of each drug classification. Topics include the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in safe administration of medications within a legal/ethical, framework. Prerequisites: PSYC 2301, RNSG 1215, RNSG 1205, RNSG 1209, RNSG 1260, HPRS 1206. Corequisites: RNSG 1361 and RNSG 1441. Pre- or co-requisites: PSYC 2314, PHED 1107. (Students seeking admission to the LVN to RN Transition Track should contact the Nursing Office for permission to take this course).
