This course provides a basic examination of the business of exploration, drilling, completion, recovery, storage, transportation, refining, and marketing of hydrocarbons. Topics covered include acquiring hydrocarbon leases and producing properties and current environmental issues affecting the hydrocarbon industry in the Permian Basin area. Cost comparisons of hydro-carbon-based energy and alternative energy sources will be introduced.
