This course explores issues of responsibility and how designers participate, shape and criticize the world around us. Graphic designers produce a majority of the visual imagery society views and consumes. This position of cultural producer is a powerful one and requires designers to be aware of how design decisions have reverberating effects. Students will develop a critical stance on cultural issues through analysis and visual response. Prerequisite: GDES 3343 with a minimum grade of C or permission of instructor. (Spring)
