In this course, students use clay to explore sculptural concepts and develop basic skills of observation and execution. Traditional methods of sculpting from the nude figure are introduced as a means of understanding form, shape, structure, anatomy and gesture. Both naturalism and abstraction of the figure are emphasized. Clay and tool kits are available in the Bookstore. Prerequisites: ARTS 1311 and 1316. (Fall, Spring)
