CRT HRS:03 LEC HRS:03 LAB HRS:00 This course provides a survey of the major political, economic, cultural and intellectual history of Europe through the Reformation. Emphasis will be placed on the contributions of Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome to the Western world, the fall of Rome, the Byzantine Empire, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Students will be expected to show an understanding of the knowledge presented in the course, as well as proficiency in thinking critically about historical issues. Prerequisite: A passing score of 78+ on the Reading ACCUPLACER Exam or equivalent; or completion of READ 0090 with a grade of "C" or better.
