Early European Masterpieces: A survey of some classical Greek and Roman authors of epic, dramatic and lyric poetry which may include Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Sappho, Mimnermus, Pindar, Virgil, Horace, Catullus, Seneca and others. Greek and Roman mythology, institutions, mores and art forms will complement the course. Previously ENG 281/ENG 281W. Prerequisite: ENGL& 101, or equivalent with instructor permission.
