Topics include kinetics, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, buffers, solubility and complex ion equilibrium, entropy, Gibbs energy, electrochemistry & transition metals. Course includes lecture and seminar. Previously CHEM 160. Prerequisites: CHEM 172/182 with grades of 2.0 or better and ENGL& 101 and MATH& 141 or Instructor permission. CHEM 183 must be taken concurrently. Mandatory decimal grading.
