This course includes strategies for teaching reading in the content areas, teaching vocabulary, word identification and comprehension. Considers locating resources, note-taking skills, test-taking, reading rate and flexibility, control strategies, and higher order cognitive skills. Required for all teacher certification programs. This course requires 10 hours of classroom observation. Prerequisites: Junior standing and admission to Teacher Education Program. (3302)
