Designed for students preparing for careers in elementary school education, this course focuses on providing an integrated approach to social studies with an emphasis on the geography of Texas, the United States, and the world, including map skills. Objectives cover essential elements required to prepare teachers of social studies in Texas elementary schools. May not be used to satisfy upper level history requirements for a major in history. Prerequisites: HIST 2303 recommended, Junior standing and admission to the Teacher Education Program.
