This is a required course for freshmen and transfer students with 15 hours or less. The course is designed to help the students become exposed to essential skills and information necessary for successful matriculate at Paul Quinn College. The course is designed to reflect a broad number of topics that will enhance successful student outcomes and retention. The format for the course will include explanatory presentations, discussions, computer assisted instruction, collaborative grouping and other meaningful presentations models. It is designed to help the student create greater success in college and in life. The student will learn many proven strategies for creating greater academic, professional, and personal success through various approaches such as guided journaling and reflective writings will be used to explore these strategies. The student will be engaged in learning community cohorts and service learning integration as an integral part of the course. The course will be taught in two parts or blocks in the fall and spring.
