Study of the historical foundations and philosophical questions relating to the development of sport and physical activity programs in the United States. Investigation of the forces, controversies and leaders affecting sport and physical activity development as an integral part of current society. Scope includes administration, organization, responsibilities, and opportunities associated with physical fitness and sports. Three hours lecture per week.
