Prerequisite: MUCT 251 or permission of the instructor. A composition seminar focusing on the smaller forms, including ABA, theme and variation and sonatina, as they pertain to contemporary composition. Class will also include lectures on melodic and harmonic development, form, and listening to significant 20th century musical movements. May be repeated for a total of 3 credits. (Fall, odd years)
