Development of the basic laws of thermodynamics, together with their illustration by application to energy transformations and state changes in engineering problems. Individual and group design projects. History of and contributions by various cultures to thermodynamics. Prerequisite: MATH& 152 and PHYS& 222 (may be taken concurrently).
