(formerly CHEM 101) Prereq: CHEM& 100, high school chemistry or instructor permission. MATH 095 or 098 or concurrent enrollment and recommended for ENGL& 101 on placement tests. An introduction to general chemistry for health professionals or as chemical background for further studies in chemistry. Topics include unit conversions, atomic structures, periodic properties, chemical bonds, basic stoichiometry, states of matter, solutions, equilibrium, acid/base chemistry and oxidation/reduction.
