Provides students involved in the promotion of physical activity with the basic knowledge necessary to understand how health and fitness are managed in a variety of community settings. Topics will include: historical and philosophical basis of community-based health and fitness management; organizational assessment and evaluation issues; strategies for behavioral change; strategies for program development, implementation and marketing; specific examples of different community-based health and fitness management programs.
