Provides students involved in the promotion of physical activity with the basic knowledge necessary to safely conduct exercise, health and fitness assessments in a variety of community settings. Topics will include: history of assessment and its role in physical activity promotion; purpose and methods for pre-evaluation and screening; assessment and evaluation techniques; prescriptive program development for health and fitness; bio-psycho-social implications of assessment and evaluation.
