This course is an integration of previous knowledge and skills into the continued development of the professional nurse as a provider of care, coordinator of care, and member of a profession, The course emphasizes clinical decision making for clients in medical-surgical settings experiencing health problems involving fluid and electrolyte disorders, respiratory disorders, peripheral vascular disorders, immunologic disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and endocrine and metabolic disorders. Included in this course is a discussion of knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Prerequisite: Admission into the program.
