An entry level course in digital electronics covering number systems, binary mathematics, digital codes, logic gates, Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, and combinational logic. Emphasis will be on circuit logic analysis and troubleshooting digital circuits. Students will learn to analyze digital circuits such as combinational logic circuits, clocking and timing circuits, and analog-to-digital and digitalto- analog devices; troubleshoot various digital circuits using schematic diagrams; and solve problems involving binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal numbering systems. Co-requisite: EEIR 1301 or permission of instructor.
