Advanced study of world literature from the 1500's to the present. Representative works from a wide range of periods, languages, and cultures (both Western and non-Western) will be considered. Special attention will be given to works with major literary and/or historical significance, emphasizing research with primary and secondary sources. Prerequisites: Eng 200, Eng 221, and advanced literature course or permission of Chair. Offered Summer Semester.
