Intended for students whose first language is not English. Small group, individualized, and/or computer-assisted instruction with emphasis on the comprehension and critical reading of academic texts, improvement of reading speed and flexibility, and especially strengthening of vocabulary skills. Students read, analyze, discuss, and paraphrase typical university-level texts in order to prepare themselves to be effective participants in future classes. May be repeated for a maximum of two Semester. Graded as Pass/No Pass and is not applicable to degree programs Offered Fall semester.
