Prerequisites: READ 090 or placement in READ 120; ENGL 095 or placement in ENGL& 101, or instructor permission. A course for people interested in working in the domestic violence field. Overview of the history, myths and realities, dynamics of victims, abusers and other family members plus an overview of the cycle of violence. The course includes a progression of debriefing and listening skills, role-playing and group exercises. 5 lecture hours. Vocational program course. May be used as a general elective in the AA degree.
