Recommended Preparation: ENGL 095 or concurrent enrollment; or placement in ENGL& 101. Designed to provide students with elementary knowledge of classical Latin, this course will focus on reading and understanding the written language through the study of grammar and texts. Additional attention will be given to the influence of Latin on modern English, as well as to relevant topics in Roman culture and history. 5 lecture hours. Satisfies humanities distribution area E requirement or specified elective requirement for the AA degree.
