Prerequisite: A grade of "C-" or better inMATH 111 or MATH& 141 or instructor permission. An introduction to probability theory and statistical analysis with applications to business and a variety of other fields. Topics covered include describing data graphically and numerically, correlation and linear regression, probability, the binomial and normal distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. Same as MATH 260; students may not receive credit for both. 5 lecture hours. Satisfies quantitative skills requirement or science distribution area F requirement or specified elective requirement for the AA degree.
