Prerequisites: All courses in physical therapy are restricted to students accepted into the program. This course will introduce the student to the role of the physical therapist as an educator. The course includes theories of teaching and learning, the importance of learning styles, behavioral objectives, evaluation of teaching, motivation and compliance and adult learners. The differences in educating multicultural patient populations will be discussed. Clinical teaching will be done in role-playing situations. Students will prepare and present a teaching unit to a community group.
