SUMMER Prerequisite: HSAD 500. The objective of the course is to develop in the student an appreciation for the depth and reach of the law in all facets of the health care delivery process. The course will emphasize the impact of the law in private and public health settings. Topics include an introduction to our legal system, professional liability issues related to providers, legal issues in the operation and regulation of health care institutions and legal issues in the institution-patient relationship as well as the institution-physician relationship.
