HSAD 520 - Health Reimbursement Issues

Prerequisites: HSAD 500 and either BADM 530 or PADM 507 and 513 or consent of the instructor. Reimbursement issues are reviewed for two perspectives (1) institutions/providers and (2) payers and users of health care, such as insurers, business and consumers. Topics covered from the providers' perspective include evaluation of one's financial information for clinical and managerial decisions. Topics covered from the payer's perspective include financial incentives and disincentives. Implications for efficient and effective delivery of health care services are identified and explored.
