Prerequisites: ENGL 201 and ENGL 271. English majors must have grades of 2.5 or better; non majors must have permission of the instructor. This course covers the history of British literature beginning with the Restoration and ending with the Romantics, focusing on works of representative authors and examining changes in literary forms, including the beginnings of narrative form, as well as conceptions of culture and society.
