Prerequisite: Admission to UWSOD An introductory didactic course in periodontology for pre-doctoral dental students. Successful completion of this course should allow students to apply knowledge obtained from basic science disciplines to the understanding of the infectious nature of periodontal diseases and the disease process resulting from the host inflammatory response. The student will learn how to assess clinical conditions and associate these conditions with periodontal pathology.
