FALL This course is designed to develop critical thinking skills as exhibited in reasoning and argumentation, with a further goal of examining how the power of an individual's public voice can affect society. The course begins with a study of the rhetorical tradition of reasoning and argumentation, including elements of ethics. As the course progresses students will analyze, from historical to modern times, examples of individuals using their public voice and the resulting impact upon society. The course will culminate with students creating a reasoned, ethical argument as a final project.
