Prerequisite: MISC 371 or CSCD 211 or permission of the instructor. This course is designed to give the student an overview of fourth generation languages from the perspectives of appropriate uses, design techniques and productivity optimization. Among the topics to be covered are: descriptions and definitions of fourth generation languages, overview of the range and scope of fourth generation languages, design techniques for fourth generation applications and employment of a database management system and a data dictionary directory system with fourth generation languages.
