5 credits This course introduces nutrition assessment and diagnosis terminology utilizing the Nutrition Care Process. Medical terminology, abbreviations and standardized language for the Nutrition Care Process are practiced. Both allopathic and natural medicine perspectives are offered, including food-as-medicine, whole-foods menu writing and disease prevention strategies. Anthropometric, biochemical, clinical observation and client history, and dietary history and assessment measures are included. Students begin medical documentation practice using out-patient based case studies. Prerequisites: TR3111, TR4112 or equivalent and admission to BSN/DPD. Corequisite: BC4114
