The focus of this course is the recognition and consideration of psychological aspects in the practice of general medicine, including empirically proven health psychology strategies and naturopathic medicine therapeutics (i.e., nutrition, botanicals) for treating mental and emotional conditions. Topics include but are not limited to the following: assessing and promoting patient motivation and readiness, naturopathic diagnosis and treatment of psychological conditions secondary to medical problems, and family dynamics in general medical presentations. Prerequisite: PS6306 (concurrent with clinic shifts)
